Ever since Liam Neeson uttered those fateful words into a phone at an Albanian people trafficker in Paris, he has been a middle aged man’s action icon. Ever since the tragic passing of his wife, he has kept himself busy carving out a niche in this genre. Now, Neeson is The Mongoose.
Samuel Goldwyn Films has released the trailer for his latest effort. Neeson plays Ryan Flanagan, a former war hero accused of a crime he didn’t commit and who finds himself with nothing to lose.
He leads law enforcement on a cross-country car chase with the help of his brothers in arms and a sympathetic public rooting for his getaway. So a violent Smokey & The Bandit meets Convoy with less trucks? OK. We can go for that.

Marisa Tomei, Ving Rhames, Marcus Thomas, Maurice Marvel Meredith, and Michael Chiklis co-star.
Tomei will play his ex-wife, Rhames his loyal right-hand, and Chiklis is the violent and reckless head of the Texas Highway Patrol.
Mark Vanselow, Neeson’s stunt double throughout a lot of his career, directs from a script written by Thompson Evans. Al Corley, Bart Rosenblatt, and Eugene Musso produce.
The Mongoose was shot in Australia early last year, so a nice studio funded trip down under for all!
