After two quite mysterious trailers, a third trailer has now dropped for 20th Century Studios’ The Dog Stars, Ridley Scott’s latest movie. This stars Jacob Elordi, Josh Brolin, Margaret Qualley, Allison Janney, and Guy Pearce.
It is an adaption of Peter Heller’s acclaimed post-apocalyptic novel.
Elordi stars as a widowed pilot named Hig who is one of the few survivors in a world devastated by a global pandemic. Hig leads a solitary existence in an aeroplane hangar, with only his dog and a gruff gunman for company. His quiet life is suddenly disrupted when he intercepts a mysterious transmission on his Cessna radio, sparking a journey to uncover its origin.
Brolin stars as Bangley, the gun expert who is not big on conversation or sharing about his past. Qualley is Cima, who spends her time farming for subsistence and guarding against invaders.
Scott directs from a screenplay written by Mark L. Smith (Twisters, The Revenant). The Dog Stars opens in cinemas on August 28th.
