VELMA Is Cancelled

It’s the little wins in life that can make you smile, just for a brief moment. This is one of those moments, Velma has been cancelled after two series.

Yes, Velma was renewed for a second series. We talked about it earlier this earlier this year, saying how ‘the message’ was more important that silly things like money or viewers.

Velma was universally panned by critics and viewers. I can’t say ‘fans’, because the fans of this show were more interested in ‘the message’ than they were in the product. Shocker!

The writer of the show, Mindy Kaling, seemed proud of her work, and so did the shills. It managed to hit new lows in ‘entertainment’ by being sexist, racist and homophobic, all while trying to show it was none of these things mainly because it was aimed at the patriarchy, as we all know, while men are evil. It’s a shame, I can still remember Kaling being mildly funny in The Office.

I haven’t been able to check the numbers, but here’s what I think happened.

  • Series one comes out and everyone hate watches it.
  • This causes the viewing figures to spike.
  • The suits see this as a good thing, ergo: everyone is watching this show.
  • They commission a second series.
  • This time, no one hate watches it, they just ignore it.
  • It’s cancelled.

You cannot understand how these suits brains work. ‘Look at the figures, they are through the roof…everyone loves the show’. While completely ignoring Twitter, all social media and YouTube videos, saying how much they all hate it.

We can all take comfort that Velma is now history, confined to the memories of another one of those shows.

Velma
Indians. Incredibly racist.
