Horror is so hot right now. To be fair, the past 12 months have seen some great horror movies, and ones that have really knocked it out of the park. So, who is the Other Mommy?
Well, for me, at least, it’s probably going to be the best horror movie ever made. Why? Because it’s got Jessica Chastain in it. I’m not a sell-out; I’m a simp with no life; there’s a difference.
Other Mommy has had a trailer, but it’s exclusively in the cinemas, playing just before The Odyssey. Somehow, I can’t imagine people are going to see Nolan’s new movie just to see a trailer. Well, I might.
The movie stars, alongside the hottest actress in Hollywood, Jay Duplass, Arabella Olivia Clark, Karen Allen, Sean Kaufman, Dichen Lachman, and Travis Nelson.
Other Mommy is being directed by Rob Savage, best known for Host and Dashcam. Nathan Elston and Josh Malerman are the writers. The story:
Bela, an 8-year-old girl living in a home with marital problems, confronts a sinister entity that comes out of her closet. The presence, who she calls “Other Mommy,” becomes increasingly threatening to her and her family.
This is very similar to another of Jessica’s (I’m on a first-name basis with her, in my head) movies, Mama. That was an entity that was playing ‘mom’ with two kids.
As I said, none of that matters, as Other Mommy will be the greatest movie ever; and I’m not shilling, I’m a simp! It will be in cinemas 9th Oct.
