This popped up out of nowhere, but it’s a teaser for the final instalment of the Mission: Impossible series. The last of the movies is called The Final Reckoning.
Personally, I’m looking forward to this. I think the Mission: Impossible series of movies has been consistently good, and the stunts are second to none. Half the budget must go on Tom Cruise’s life insurance. However, when you see Cruise hanging off a plane, you know it’s him.
Talking of the budget, it’s estimated that this final instalment will cost in the region of $400 million just to make! That’s a lot of money and it will mean a big return on the movie at the box office. Dead Reckoning, the previous instalment made $570 million in the box office.
For Mission: Imposible – The Final Reckoning, the team are back together, joining Cruse is Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Hayley Atwell, Vanessa Kirby, Pom Klementieff, Nick Offerman, Angela Bassett, Holt McCallany, Katy O’Brian, Indira Varma and Henry Czerny.
Christohper McQuarrie will be writing and directing again. It will be his fourth Mission: Impossible movie and fifth time working with Cruse. They had also made Jack Reacher together.
Not much is known about the story at the moment, but it will pick up from the previous movie, with Ethan and the gang fighting an A.I. which could destroy the world. Why is A.I. always trying to destroy the world? Can’t we have one that wants to be nice?
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning will be in cinemas on the 23rd of May next year. I might treat myself to it and see it on the big screen.
