I’m going to label this under “If you laugh, you’re going to hell” since I laughed and I know I’m going to hell. In fact, knowing that some of you lot will be joining me gives me comfort. What is so amusing? A scammer using fake Brad Pitt to con a French lady out of a lot of money.
We didn’t cover it, because we are a legitimate newsworthy website that doesn’t deal with tabloid tattle, but Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have just settled their divorce.
It took several years and an awful lot of money, but it’s now official. They did have six kids they had to sort out. Come on Angie, they are real life children, not bobble heads to collect.
This news shook the world, well those who cared, but it seems things got worse for poor Brad. Or so this poor French woman was led to believe.
Anne, aged 53, made an Instagram account to share images with her friends. She was befriended by Jane Etta Pitt, which is Brad’s mother’s real name, and was told:
“My son needs a woman like you.”
The next day, she had a message from ‘Jane’s son’, Brad Pitt, asking to know more about Anne. She was dubious at first, obviously, but things kind of got out of hand. Anne went on to say:
“We’re talking about Brad Pitt here and I was stunned. At first, I thought it was fake, but I didn’t really understand what was happening to me. After that, we got in touch every day and became buddies.”
Anne, not being an idiot, asked for photos as proof it really was him. The scammers sent through AI images of Brad, but in hospital, looking seriously ill.
She genuinely thought he had taken selfies of himself, just for her.
Over the course of a year, ‘Brad’ kept saying how he couldn’t afford the treatment and would need Anne to send him money. In total, she sent him nearly £800,000 and left her penniless.
It’s a Scam
In fact, it got to a point where she divorced her husband, thinking she was eventually going to marry ‘Brad’. Her daughter tried to warn her about the scam, but Anne was convinced that Brad was coming and they were going to get married.
Anne only became suspicious when, in 2024, photos were online of the real Brad, with his new real-life girlfriend, Inès de Ramon. Pretty careless there Brad, oh wait, it wasn’t really him, was it.
It was only then that Anne reported the crime.
Since then, Anne has been subject to online bullying and piss taking, much like we are doing now. Sorry, but deservedly so!
What kind of idiot would believe that an A-Lister Hollywood star would be interested in them?
