We had already seen a very, very brief teaser trailer that featured a xenomorph looking out on Earth from orbit. Now FX has dropped a poster, and a new 30-second teaser trailer for Alien: Earth.
This confirms the previously discussed storyline. It begins when a mysterious space vessel crash-lands on Earth. A young woman (Sydney Chandler) and a ragtag group of tactical soldiers make a fateful discovery that puts them face-to-face with the planet’s greatest threat.
As members of the crash recovery crew search for survivors in the wreckage, they encounter mysterious, predatory life forms more terrifying than they could have ever imagined. With this new threat unlocked, the search crew must fight for survival, and what they choose to do with this discovery could change planet Earth as they know it.
The new teaser appears to show the beginning of this crash and features what sounds very much like Sigourney Weaver’s recorded voice.
The standard Alien signature noises, and other audio beats, also make an appearance. The series hails from Fargo and Legion creator Noah Hawley and it has been coming for a long time. The series will serve as a prequel and will be set two years before the events of the 1979 film Alien.
The series is a co-production between 20th Television and Scott Free Productions.
Alex Lawther, Essie Davis, Timothy Olyphant, Kit Young, Adarsh Gourav, David Rysdahl, Babou Ceesay, Lily Newmark, Adrian Edmondson, Sandra Yi Sencindiver, and Moe Bar-El co-star in the series.
Alien: Earth is set to be released on FX on Hulu in the United States and internationally on Disney+ via the Star hub simultaneously in 2025.
