Trailer: THE FANTASTIC FOUR: FIRST STEPS **Updated**

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is the fifth time the superhero group has assembled for the big screen. The 1994 Roger Corman version never got released. The 2005 version had Chris Evans and Jessica Alba in it. The 2007 version also happened, but no one can remember it. As for the 2015 version, no one cared.

Will The Fantastic Four: First Steps be a return to success for Marvel? This time they’ve assembled a cast headlined by Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards (this is the 318th film Pascal has appeared in already in 2025). Vanessa Kirby is Sue Storm. Joseph Quinn is Johnny Storm. Ebon Moss-Bachrach is Ben Grimm.

The trailer also gives us a glimpse of Galactus (Ralph Ineson) and Julia Garner’s Silver Surfer iteration.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps Plot

On a 1960s-inspired retro-futuristic Earth, the Fantastic Four must protect their home from being devoured by the cosmic being Galactus and his enigmatic herald, the Silver Surfer.

Since their 1961 introduction, the Fantastic Four has been portrayed as a somewhat dysfunctional, yet loving, family. Breaking convention with other comic archetypes, the members squabbled, held grudges both deep and petty, and eschewed anonymity or secret identities in favor of celebrity status. They are also well known for their recurring encounters with the villainous monarch Doctor Doom.

Robert Downey Jr. is expected to appear as Doctor Doom in a post-credits scene.

One must admit that the 1960s aesthetic is cool.

The Fantastic Four: First Steps is scheduled to be released in the United States on July 25, 2025, in IMAX. It will be the first film, and start, of Phase Six of the MCU.
