SISU: ROAD TO REVENGE Trailer

Sisu was one of those ‘where did that come from’ movies. It popped up, out of nowhere and was a damn good action movie. Well, he’s back in Sisu: Road to Revenge. Warning: the trailer is NSFW.

The first movie came out in 2022 and had the style of John Wick, very little dialogue, everything simple, and guns, lots of guns, well, hardcore action.

In Sisu: Road to Revenge, original cast member Jorma Tommila is joined by Stephen Lang, Richard Brake, Einar Haraldsson, and Jaakko Hutchings. Jalmari Helander is back as writer and director.

Helander said he might consider a sequel back in 2023. He said that if the movie did well in the US, it would most likely be on the cards. Well, it did well and here we are.

The story for this sequel is:

A man returns to dismantle his family’s house, where they were murdered in war, to rebuild it elsewhere. When the killer, a Red Army commander, tracks him down, a brutal cross-country pursuit begins.

Sisu draws inspiration from Simo Häyhä, a real-life WWII sharpshooter who battled the Red Army, killing over 500 enemy soldiers. He fought in the Winter War, earned the nickname “White Death,” and ranks as the deadliest sniper ever.
The sequel, Sisu: Road to Revenge, boasts an $11 million budget, partly funded by the Finnish Film Foundation, which also backed the original film.
Sisu: Road to Revenge premieres at Fantastic Fest in September, hits Finnish theatres in October, and opens in the US on the 21st of November.
