Is this the new Hot Fuzz, but with less gags, and more action? Magnolia Pictures has premiered the full-length trailer for the Bob Odenkirk-led action feature Normal that certainly has a familiar ring to it.
Odenkirk plays Ulysses, a man who comes to the sleepy town of Normal to serve as the temporary sheriff after the passing of the original sheriff. A bank robbery in Normal leads Ulysses to find that a criminal underground network underpins the entire town.

The supporting cast includes the always-welcome Henry Winkler and Lena Headey. They are backed up by Ryan Allen, Billy MacLellan, Brendan Fletcher, Peter Shinkoda, and Jess McLeod.
Principal photography began on October 21, 2024 in Winnipeg. The movie absolutely killed it at Toronto last year, where it was shown in the Midnight Madness program.
It is directed by Ben Wheatley (High Rise, Free Fire, Meg 2) with Derek Kolstad (John Wick) writing. Kolstad and Odenkirk created the story together, and they produced alongside Marc Provissierom.
Normal is a short, sharp 90 minutes and arrives in theaters on April 17th. Looks like a fun evening at the theater. Outside the US, it could pop up absolutely anywhere as it was pre-sold heavily at the EFM to Sky Cinema for the United Kingdom, Amazon MGM Studios for Canada, Scandinavia, Australia and New Zealand, Metropolitan Filmexport for France, and Leonine Studios in Germany.
