Something For The Weekend

The weekend is here, and it’s movie time. There’s more good news as well, next weekend is a bank holiday (here in the UK), so you have a four-day weekend next week.

Every Friday, the Last Movie Outpost has some movie suggestions for you, and this Friday is getting you ready for the weekend.

  • Tentacles – Movie – A fun B-Movie with a good cast, pure entertainment.
  • Pirates of the Caribbean: At the World’s End – Movie – Just to finish off the fun trilogy.
  • The Mentalist – TV Series – I love this show, I’m not into murder mysteries, but Patrick Jayne is very cool.
  • Ricky Gervais’ new stand-up – TV Show – I forget the title, and I’m not a huge fan of Gervais, but he is damn funny.
  • Wicked: For Good – Movie – Couldn’t finish it, awful movie and a pointless sequel.
  • The Running Man – Movie – The new version, and Stark and Hawk, loved it.

  • Jaws – Movie – If you don’t like this movie, get your coat and leave! It’s cinematic perfection.
  • Supergirl (1984) – Movie – This was so terrible it was hilarious. At one point, Supergirl doesn’t know what a flower is, and in the next scene, she manages to write up a recommendation letter for a school.
  • Tomb Raider – Movie – The original with Angelina’s ‘Jolies’, and that was the only thing worth watching it for.
  • Fackham Hall – Movie – Something rare these days, a funny comedy.

That’s your weekend sorted, but I wanted to add a warning.

A new movie is out on streaming: Pretty Lethal. I’ve just finished it, and it was terrible. The story is about a group of ballerinas who take on the Russian mob, all of whom have knives, guns, and muscles the size of a weightlifter.

However, the ballerinas are young women with plucky attitudes. Guess who wins? Do yourself a favour and don’t bother with it this weekend.
