Does Hollywood think if they don’t keep on reminding people, they will somehow forget they are American?
Or is it some desperate rearguard action to try and convince people?

Anyway… we digress. MGM+ has released the teaser trailer for a new thriller series. American Hostage is set in the 1970s and is inspired by real events.
The psychological thriller follows Fred Heckman (Jon Hamm), a long-standing Indianapolis radio reporter who finds himself in the middle of a serious situation.
Hostage taker Tony Kiritsis (Giovanni Ribisi) demands to be interviewed on Heckman’s popular radio news program, and things quickly begin to spiral.
American Hostage co-stars Kristoffer Polaha as Dick Hall, William Jackson Harper as Ben Hairston, Mireille Enos as Fred’s wife Barbara Heckman, Jonathan Tucker as FBI Special Agent Cormac McNally, and Kat Cunning as Ibby Hall.
The show is from Shawn Ryan (The Shield, SWAT) and co-creator Eileen Myers.
They also executive produce alongside Sharon Hoffman, Hamm, Connie Tavel, Marney Hochman, Shawn Christensen, Gabriel Mason, and Jen Roskind.
Directors Adam Arkin and Nina Lopez Corrado.
The series is eight episodes long, and was produced by Sony Pictures Television.
American Hostage is released (…ahem…) on September 20th.
