A couple of days ago, we shared the first images from Blade Runner 2099 right here at Last Movie Outpost. Now, direct from San Diego Comic Con comes the first trailer.
Michelle Yeoh and Hunter Schafer star. Blade Runner 2099 is set in a world where replicants are now the power brokers of the city and humans are second-class citizens in their own world following a replicant rebellion.
Yeoh stars as Olwen, a replicant Blade Runner hunting a group of missing rogue replicants while approaching the predetermined end of her own lifespan.
The show is written by Michael Green, while Ridley Scott is involved as an executive producer and adviser. The first two episodes are directed by Jonathan van Tulleken and were written by showrunner Silka Luisa.
The show was first revealed In November 2021, when Ridley Scott announced that a pilot for a Blade Runner television spin-off had been written along with a series bible and initial plans for 10 episodes. In February 2022, the series title Blade Runner 2099 was revealed, and it was announced as being developed for Amazon Prime Video.
