Live Action CYBERPUNK On The Way

It took me three tries to really get into Cyberpunk. When it was first released on PS4, it was a great experience as the game wasn’t ready. The second time I tried was on PC, and again, I just didn’t ‘get it’.

Then I got the updated version on my PS5, and I stuck with it.

Over 100 hours later, and my view is now  different. I cannot begin to tell you how good the game is.

The story is fantastic. Your character is trapped with another human’s conscience in your head, which has been planted there digitally.

It belongs to Johnny Silverhand (Keanu Reeves), and you need to get it out of your head, or it will kill you both. There is so, so much more to it, but the central story is what you would want from a movie, if only Hollywood could pull their fingers out of their asses.

Talk of a Cyberpunk movie has been doing the rounds since the game came out. It’s taken this long to finally get the ball rolling and it looks like it is finally happening.

Transformers producer, Lorenzo di Bonaventura, is attached to the new project. CD Projekt Red, the game developers, are also on board and will also serve as producers.

The days of crappy video game-to-movie conversions are over, and movies like Minecraft Movie, Super Mario Brothers and Five Nights at Freddy’s have all done well, maybe because Uwe Boll wasn’t involved with any of them.

If Hollywood gets things right with Cyberpunk, it could be awesome, but that’s a big ‘if’.

For those who have played Cyberpunk, here’s a screenshot to make you smile. If you know, you know. #winkwink
