SINNERS Still Tops Box Office

Sinners continues to do remarkable business for an R-rated horror movie. Domestically, it pulled in $45 million according to Box Office Mojo. This means a second-week drop of only 6%, which would indicate some word-of-mouth traction.

After failing to do much overseas on release, it has also picked up a little more steam overseas with another $39.1 million from the rest of the world. This means $161 million and climbing globally. With a $90 million budget, it is going to need a decent third week, too.

In second place was the re-release of Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith with $25.2 million. It just about pushed The Accountant 2 into third place on $24.4 million. The Accountant sequel added another $13.7 million overseas.

A Minecraft Movie continues to be a license to print money. It came in fourth with $22.7 million. Overseas, it grabbed another $37.8 million offshore to bring its total to $816.6 million after just four weeks on release. A raft of producers can continue jumping up and down and touching themselves with excitement.

In fifth place was Until Dawn with $8 million.

According to a report in Deadline the domestic box office for the weekend was the best end-of-April result since COVID.
