Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen was released five years ago and now he’s back with the TV series version because TV shows made from movies are so hot right now.

The trailer has all of Guy’s signature moves, the snappy dialogue, the slick soundtrack, and of course, plenty of slow-mo. It’s almost as if Guy Ritchie is the love child of Quentin Tarantino and Zack Snyder.

The Gentlemen series is set in the world of the original that starred Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam (with another shit accent), Colin Farrell, and Hugh Grant. This time around we have Theo James (someone needs to sign him up if they ever make a George Michael biopic), Ray Winston, Peter Serafinowicz (voice of Darth Maul), Giancarlo Esposito, and Vinnie Jones.

The Gentlemen Chicken

The series description reads:

“The Gentlemen sees Eddie Horniman (Theo James) unexpectedly inherit his father’s sizeable country estate – only to discover it’s part of a cannabis empire. Moreover, a host of unsavory characters from Britain’s criminal underworld want a piece of the operation.

Determined to extricate his family from their clutches, Eddie tries to play the gangsters at their own game. However, as he gets sucked into the world of criminality, he begins to find a taste for it.”

The Gentlemen Blood

It is no surprise to anyone that I enjoy Guy Ritchie’s movies, but I need to revisit The Gentlemen before this lands because I honestly don’t remember too much about it. The Gentlemen is set to debut on Netflix in March 2024, and with the Sexy Beast series hitting our screens in January, it looks like cheeky cockney chappies are going to have a blinding year in 2024, innit son.
