Screaming Mad George Miller is at it again in the apocalyptic wasteland of Oz. The new Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga trailer just dropped.
Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga is a spin-off and a prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road (2015) and the fifth film in the Mad Max franchise. The film stars Anya Taylor-Joy as Imperator Furiosa. A swaggering Chris Hemsworth plays the villain, Warlord Dementus. Him being possibly demented is a good bet. We also get looks at a returning Immortan Joe, the Bullet Farm and the usual collection of gonzo cars crashing in gonzo ways.
It has been eight years since Fury Road burned our eyes like the exhaust of a thousand monster trucks revving their engines at once. Will that kooky guitar player in the red pajamas with the flamethrowing instrument make a reappearance? We can only hope. In the meantime, we have warboys, RPGs, motorcycle chariots and sand to hate because it gets everywhere.
We also get a glimpse at the place Furiosa and the escaped wives thought they were going in Fury Road. It looks positively green compared to what we have seen of the wasteland previously. What happened to it between this movie and the last? May good old George have some satisfying answers for us.
The official synopsis of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga reads:
As the world falls, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and into the hands of a Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus (Hemsworth). While two Tyrants war for dominance over the Citadel, Furiosa survives many trials as she plots a way back home through the Wasteland.
Hit the guzzoline and ride on to Vahalla!
