SHOGUN Wins Big At “Hidden” Emmys

Ain’t Hollywood magnificent? Swathes of it spend huge amounts of time lecturing people on things it has nothing to do with, about all sorts of principles, and then when you take it’s awards like the Oscars or the Emmys, they practice clear Apartheid. The beautiful people get their glitzy, televised, red carpet and goody-bag event and the people who do the grunt work behind the scenes get something different.

Much like how the Oscars cut eight technical awards from the main show, the Emmy Awards ceremony takes place next weekend but the hard work categories are bundled up into something called the Creative Arts Emmys and were awarded last night.

The Creative Arts Emmys celebrate what they refer to as the “below-the-line” categories. To throw the awards a bone, they also lump in the Guest Star category.

God forbid somebody who uses a hammer for a living might appear on television.

Last night Shōgun broke the record for the number of Emmy wins for any single season of TV with 14 wins in a single night. These included Nestor Carbonell as Best Guest Actor in a Drama.

FX’s The Bear got 7 awards. Netflix’s Baby Reindeer and Ripley, Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building and Apple’s The Morning Show also picked up awards.

Shōgun has nominations in six categories in next week’s real ceremony for the beautiful people. The tits and teeth in front of the camera.
