Casino Royale and The Mask of Zorro director Martin Campbell brings you Die Hard With A Squeegee. Or Under Tea. Or a hundred other riffs you could put on Cleaner, a new action thriller from Quiver Distribution.
Daisy Ridley stars with Clive Owen and Taz Skylar (One Piece). Cleaner follows radical activists taking over an energy company’s annual gala in a Skyscraper in London’s Docklands district. Their plan is to use the 300 hostages to expose the corruption of the hosts. When a zealot in their ranks reveals they have more sinister plans, using the activists to their own ends, it becomes clear they will murder everyone in the building to send the world a message.
Ridley plays Joey Locke, an ex-soldier turned window cleaner who is working overtime outside the building, 50 levels up, when this all kicks off. Her brother is one of those who has been taken hostage.
She must find a way to save those trapped inside while also exposing the corrupt energy moguls. The red band trailer has just dropped.
Flavia Watson, Ray Fearon, Rufus Jones, Richard Hope, and Lee Boardman also star. Sebastien Raybaud and Callum Grant produce. Simon Uttley wrote the script and it is set to premiere in theaters on February 21st.
Campbell’s The Foreigner, starring Jackie Chan and Pierce Brosnan, is one of the great underappreciated action movies of recent years. Can Cleaner match that?
