A while back there was a rumor online that the live-action Masters of the Universe movie would have at least some of it set on Earth, and feature a He-Man without his power sword, stranded.
Now scooper DanielRPK (via Dark Horizons) has seemingly confirmed this rumor. The report says this version of Prince Adam isn’t a powerful warrior from Eternia with a secret identity at the start. He’s a young man stuck in a tedious real-world office job on Earth who grew up hearing fantasy tales of He-Man and his battle against Skeletor.
There is then a “self-discovery/self-actualization” arc.
Oh. No. Just no.
You absolute fools. Masters Of The Universe should be an absolute goldmine. Swords, lasers, characters, battles, vehicles. Magic and sci-fi technology blended in a way not seen since the Force was first mentioned in Star Wars.
Wrap it up in a knowing wink, don’t be afraid of the camp and the bright colors, and bring the characters straight from the toy line and cartoons to the big screen in live-action form then you have a license to print money.
In the article reporting this, Dark Horizons also links to a social media post showing that lead Nicholas Galitzine has been getting buff, ready to take on the role:

Travis Knight is directing the film from a script by Chris Butler. It will be released in June 2026.
