Cuaron Confirms BOND Discussions

Gravity and Children of Men director Alfonso Cuaron has confirmed that he is having conversations about taking the helm of the next Bond movie.

The Oscar winner was in advanced talks with the previous producers to helm Quantum Of Solace, but a deal could not be reached, likely over a level of control.

He had always harboured a desire to make a 007 movie, and when Amazon bought creative control from Eon Productions a few weeks ago, things suddenly kicked into high gear.

His relationship with new producer David Heyman, who he worked with on Harry Potter And The Prisoner Of Azkaban, is thought to be key.

Writers have already been hired, so now would be the time for a director to come onboard to influence the script with their vision.

This weekend at a masterclass session in Paris, Cuaron had this to say:

“There is indeed THIS project under discussion, and I have the desire – if it happens – to revisit this story in my own way.”

Work is already underway in London on the next instalment, with an approach and plot outline apparently coming together rapidly.
