Firstly, don’t start! I know what you Outposters are like, but hear me out and enjoy this trailer for Heidi: Rescue of the Lynx. It’s nice and wholesome for a change.
The lovely people who usually send me press releases usually send them about zombies, vampires and cannibals. It was nice to have a movie like Heidi: Rescue of the Lynx come through: no blood, guts or gore, just a nice family film.
Throw me a bone here, I’m doing the best I can. I actually watched a screen last night, and a review is on the way. Give things a chance and open your minds; at the very least, your kids will love it.
Heidi: Rescue of the Lynx stars Max Giermann, Toby Schwarz, and Michael McCown. Toby Schwarz and Aizea Roca Berridi direct. It’s based on a book by Johanna Spyri, with the writers of The Queen’s Corgi and Gnomeo & Juliet.
The story is:
When spirited eight-year-old Heidi rescues a lynx cub from a greedy businessman threatening their Alpine home, she uncovers her grandfather’s hidden past and learns that true belonging means protecting both family and the wild places they call home.
I believe Heidi has a series of books and TV shows, and this is the same character, Anne of Greengables but in the Swiss Alps. More from the press release.
With her loyal friend Peter and ever-faithful St. Bernard, Joseph, Heidi embarks on a daring nighttime journey to return Pepper to his family, a brave adventure through the Swiss Alps in which she faces the perils of nature and uncovers her grandfather’s hidden past. In convincing her grandfather to come clean with the village community, Heidi learns that true belonging means protecting both family and the wild places they call home.
Heidi: Rescue of the Lynx will be in UK cinemas on the 1st of August, and a review will be up soon.
