WAR MACHINE Sequel Is Go

Big, dumb fun is how you could describe War Machine. The Alan Ritchson-led sci-fi did huge numbers for Netflix. So now a sequel has been greenlit.

When it landed back in March, it instantly became one of their top ten presentations.

Predator crossed with Lone Survivor, it was straightforward and delivered on the action. Critics were a little sniffy about it, but audiences really responded.

It followed the final stage of US Army Ranger selection, when a training team in the wilderness finds their exercise becoming a fight for survival against an unimaginable threat – a mechanoid that appears to be alien in nature.

Dennis Quaid, Stephan James, Jai Courtney, Esai Morales, Blake Richardson, Keiynan Lonsdale, and Daniel Webber co-starred.

Those of you who saw War Machine will know that the ending featured a bit of a surprise and left the way clearly open for this sequel.

Patrick Hughes returns to direct and co-write with James Beaufort. Hughes will also produce along with Todd Lieberman, Rich Cook, Greg McLean, and Alex Young.

No release date is currently known.
