Paddington

PADDINGTON 4 In The Works?

Before you say anything, yes, Paddington 3 isn’t out yet. It seems that the powers that be believe in the Bear from Peru so much, a fourth movie, and a TV series, is in development.

Francoise Guyonnet, the CEO of Studio Canal recently said:

“We are also working on a new TV series and a new movie to come in 2027, ’28. Of course, the big event for the StudioCanal family is the release of Paddington in Peru.”

He is talking about 2028, which will be the 70th anniversary of Paddington. The little bear first appeared in a children’s book, A Bear Called Paddington by Michael Bond, in Oct 1958.

In total there were 29 books, including one where Paddington was on a train. There are a bunch of assassins looking to kill the son of a local gang leader. They all…no, wait, I’m getting it confused with Bullet Train. I’m sure Paddington was in that though.

They just can’t keep a good idea down, can they? The first two movies are rated very highly and people love seeing Paddy’s adventures. In fact there was a story a while back that Paddington 2 had a better score than Citizen Kane on Rotten Tomatoes. Bu then, that place buys reviews like I buy takeouts.

Paul King, the director of the first two movies, said recently that there could be 50 Paddington movies. If Hollywood has their way, there probably will be.

Paddington In Peru, the third movie, is released in the UK on the 8th of November.
