Something For The Weekend

Hello Friday, and welcome to the weekend. Another chance to not go into work – those are all Monday’s problems now. The weekend means movies and TV, and a lot of them. With that in mind, here are some movies you might like to watch or revisit.

  • Dracula AD 1972 – Movie – A classic from Hammer with Christopher Lee as the Lord of Darkness.
  • Superman – Movie – The original, with the best Superman, Christopher Reeve.
  • Scanners – Movie – Another classic, this time from Cronenberg, and that exploding head scene.
  • The Devil’s Mouth – Movie – Another new shark film, with the most annoying protagonists you can imagine.
  • Legend of Hell House – Movie – Another classic horror with Roddy McDowall.
  • Murder Mansion – Movie – Classic Italian horror this time.
  • The Great Santini – Movie – A film about daddy issues.
  • Tucker & Dale vs Evil – Movie – A great switch-up to the horror genre and still really funny.

  • Wanted – Movie – A loom tells assassins to kill people and curve bullets.
  • Ready or Not 2 – Movie – A decent sequel to the original.
  • Children of Men – Movie – Technically superb and the story is excellent.
  • Fast & Furious – Movie – The first one, just for the nostalgia of it.
  • Force 10 from Navarone – Movie – A classic war movie, watched because Harrison Ford was in it.
  • War Machine – Movie – Netflix with “Reacher” in it, and jolly good fun.
  • Ladyhawke – Movie – A guy tries to get it on with the bird.
  • Big Wednesday – Movie – A classic surfing film, with Gary Busey dialling crazy up to 11.
  • Bad Lieutenant – Movie – With Harvey Keitel dialling the crazy up to 11.
  • Evil Dead Burn – Movie – Another churned-out modern horror, which is more about the kills than the story.

With the sad loss of Patrick Stewart, are you going to watch one of his movies this weekend? And it’s Halloween this weekend; are you going to watch anything scary?
