Gentleman, welcome to Film Club.
As we all know, the writers and actors are striking which gives us a great opportunity to take a break from their relentless dross and destruction of everything we hold dear, and we’re not going to let this opportunity go to waste which is why we’re starting Film Club.
We are going to go back to the well and take this golden opportunity to watch classic movies, the kind that made us laugh, cry and fall in love with movies, to begin with. It could be anything from Gone With The Wind, to Back To The Future, to Silence Of The Lambs. As you expected, there are rules to Film Club.
Rule 1
The first rule of Film Club is: you do talk about Film Club!
Rule 2
The second rule of Film Club is: you DO talk about Film Club!
Rule 3
For the first week, each collaborator at Last Movie Outpost has recommended a film to watch. We want you magnificent Outposters to choose from the list below and cast a vote.
Vote results will be hidden until the deadline is over. This will prevent any shenanigans to rig the vote. Voting closes tomorrow (18th July) at 7pm UK / 1pm CST.
Rule 4
The winning film must be watched by all of us by Friday night.
Rule 5
We will each submit a one-paragraph review that will be posted on Saturday.
Rule 6
We want you to join in! For weeks 2 and onward, we want you to also recommend a movie using the comments section. We will then choose from the recommendations, a movie (or movies) to add to that week’s list for voting.
Rule 7
We would be happier than Lizzo in Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory if you would also watch the chosen movie and tell us your thoughts in the comments, or even better, submit a review too at [email protected]
Rule 8
The eighth and final rule. Never recommend A Serbian Film.
