Minions

Final Trailer: MINIONS & MONSTERS

The Minions retain something of a superpower. No matter how jaded an Outposter, how cold their heart, how cynical their outlook, those little yellow f*ckers can still raise a sensible chuckle with their antics. Maybe slapstick really is timeless?

So a trip to the theater, using the excuse of having children, might be on the cards for some of us this summer. Mine have already been told they are watching Masters Of The Universe whether they like it or not. Probably adding this to the list.

Minions

Behold, the final trailer for Universal Pictures and Illumination’s Minions & Monsters. This is the third Minions movie, and the seventh in the ridiculously successful Despicable Me franchise.

This adventure follows the Minions conquering Hollywood, failing, and then accidentally releasing an ancient one on the world in an attempt to win back the box office. It looks like they will be sending up everything from Jaws to The Blob in the process.

Minions & Monsters is directed by Oscar nominee Pierre Coffin. He voices all of the yellow characters, and directed the first three Despicable Me films and the fist Minions movie.

Brian Lynch (Minions, The Secret Life of Pets) co-wrote. Usual producers Chris Meledandri and Bill Ryan return.

The big twist is that this movie was set for June next year, but it was such an efficient production and tested so well that they moved it up an entire year. This is almost unheard of in Hollywood.

This looks like it will be adding to the frankly ludicrous $5.6 billion global box office of the franchise so far.

Minions & Monsters opens on July 1st.
