It is now nearly the end of May. The Iran-Israel-US War started in February and now seems locked in a perpetual state of ceasefire as the US wants out, but no further because Iran won’t do what is demanded. And so we enter summer…
This won’t stop Michael Bay, because where there is mayhem, there is an opportunity for Bayhem. He’s going all in on Operation Epic Fury. Specifically, the major mission to rescue a downed F-15 pilot who was shot down in their Strike Eagle over the Zagros Mountains.

With it eventually costing the US two MC-130J transports at $100 million each, four helicopters, and an A-10, along with an abnormally large number of special forces troops being put on the ground, many military commentators believe it was actually a cover for a failed mission to snatch Iranian nuclear materials.
Whatever it was, don’t expect Bay to tackle that side of things, or the countless suspicious moves in the global oil markets before any announcements. Instead, expect slo-mo Stars and Stripes fluttering in the wind as people walk meaningfully towards the camera, and military drums rattle out. Bay has his style.

The project is set up at Universal Pictures and is expected to be in production soon. No other details are known yet, like potential leads or shooting locations. What is known is that it will adapt Author Mitchell Zuckoff’s upcoming book about the event, due to be published in 2027, so Bay and team have early copies. These details come from Deadline.
Bay will re-team with Scott Gardenhour, and Erwin Stoff as producers. They worked with Bay previously on 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi.
