I like Fridays; it means the end of the week, and I get a pasty from the sandwich van at work. Although the van didn’t turn up yesterday, they had better today. The pasty is the official start of my weekend.
With the weekend looming, you need some suggestions for what to watch. Well, here you go, based as usual on what we have been watching lately at LMO HQ:
- Some Mothers Do Have ‘Em – TV series – For people of a certain age in the UK, this is pure comedy gold.
- On Her Majesty’s Secret Service – Movie – Damn fine Bondage.
- Zulu – Movie – Another damn fine classic that wouldn’t get made today.
- Altered States – Movie – Mind-bending weirdness from Ken Russell.
- Iron Man 2 – Movie – An underrated sequel, and still has the best Iron Man suit, before it went nano-bots.
- The Blood Beast Terror – Movie – Peter Cushing vs a werewolf; again, more classic action.
- Forrest Gump – Movie – I still like this movie, sorry, not sorry.
- Spider-Man 2 – Movie – The one with Dr Ock and a sequel that’s better than the original.
- Arthur – Movie – The original with Dudley Moore, and another movie with jokes you can’t tell today.
- Over the Top – Movie – A Cannon movie with Sly as an arm-wrestling truck driver. It’s one of the movies that was another nail in the coffin for Cannon.
- Star Trek 4: The Visit to Wales – Movie – I have fond memories of seeing this in the cinema with my old man.
- Three O’Clock High – Movie – An 80s classic about standing up to bullies.
- Star Trek 6: The Undiscovered Country – Movie – I skipped 5 for the obvious reasons.
- Dirty Harry – Movie – More classic stuff with Clint.
