Some new images from The Gorge recently were recently released online. Now there is a trailer online but, be warned, there is also a trailer for the trailer. The Gorge stars Miles Teller and Anya Taylor-Joy.
We said that The Gorge was an intriguing idea, but this trailer makes it look very interesting. It certainly opens up the story, although, I wonder how long they will spend building up the characters and how much time is spent in the gorge itself? The outline is:
Two very dangerous young people who, despite the corrupt and lethal world they operate in, find a soulmate in each other.
It’s hard enough finding a woman, let across a gorge filled with hellspawn in it. Although, I do relate to watching a woman from afar, through a pair of binoculars.
The Gorge stars Miles Teller, Anya Taylor-Joy, Sigourney Weaver, Sope Dirisu, William Houston, Sachin Bhatt and Samantha Coughlan. Scott Derrickson is directing with Zach Dean writing.
Derrickson is a bit of a golden boy at the moment. After Doctor Strange for the MCU, he has success with The Black Phone. He has a sequel to that on the way, and also an untitled Labyrinth project and When Gravity Falls.
Taylor-Joy said about working with Teller:
“We’re all good friends, but we’ve been wanting to work together for a really long time.”
“The Gorge’ is not I.P., it’s totally original, and when you eventually see the film, you’ll see that it’s just not like anything that’s been made, it’s a very unique movie, and I like that…”
I like the idea of something original, when was the last time we saw that? Everything is a prequel of a sequel of a reboot of a reimagining.
The Gorge will be on Apple TV on the 14th of February.
