Hardy Returns To MobLand

Good news for fans of whispering gangster hard-men. Tom Hardy will return for the third season of Guy Ritchie’s MobLand TV series.

There were many reports last month to indicate that the actor would not return.

Reports ranged from an on-set rift with co-stars, to Hardy being late to set.

The alternative view dismissed a rift with any co-stars, with several speaking in support of Hardy.

An issue was highlighted that scripts were turning up late, causing disruption to Hardy’s “method” to prepare, and that certain key creatives were unavailable when issues arose.

Other reports claimed this had all escalated into a clash with showrunner Jez Butterworth, and things had got to a point where they could no longer work together.

It was an “Either she goes, or I do!” type situation, possibly involving handbags.

Now it appears that a meeting was held in London between Hardy, Butterworth and series executive producer David Glasser. According to a report in Deadline the meeting went well, and the three are said to have charted out a plan with a:

“…great understanding about a path forward…”

Which is lucky, as Hardy’s character of Harry DeSousa is sort of the main role in MobLand.

Executive producer Guy Ritchie reportedly was also involved in the process. The third season is aiming to go into production this autumn with Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren also returning.
